My Question of the Day (QOD) habit had been waaay off the past couple weeks. And it’s messing a little bit with my mind.
The funny thing, though, is that getting back to my yoga habit is what’s bringing me back to the QOD.
I’ve just come back after almost 5 days away in DC to hang with my sister for her birthday. My sister and brother-in-law are big spinners these days, and I decided to trade in my daily yoga habit for an intro week at the spin studio they frequent.
I love working out as a team. It’s much more fun to go together. And it was a blast being a part of their routine.
But these past two days, back on my mat, I’ve felt much more like myself.
And it’s served as a reminder to me about the other stuff that grounds me. QOD is one of those things.
It sure is hard to have let something go and to have to build the momentum again. I can recall moments in the last couple weeks where I choose to give up. And as I think about it, it’s a pretty disempowering feeling. Because there’s something about the momentum of making or doing or creating something each day that brings me energy, brings me a sense of accomplishment, and brings me joy that’s healthy for my mind and helpful for my productivity.
Yoga and QOD are cornerstone habits for me. And without them, quite frankly, I’m just not as good.
What habit have you let go… that would be helpful to get back?
